A person diagnosed with a mental disorder often sees the base of the triangle as enemies rather than allies . Because they have already experienced the client's position, the Peer Support figure is naturally accepted with less resistance .

Peer Support is able to establish a unique connection with the client, as it does not occur from a paternalistic approach, as is the case with a father, mother or doctor. The client identifies the Peer as a peer .
You can even imagine how much a natural birth hurts, losing your mother as a child, but you will never know exactly what it is like if you have not gone through that experience.
